Ronnie Mohamad, formerly known as Hairani Mohamad, began his artistic journey at the age of 17, primarily focusing on creating intricate charcoal paintings of figures. He believes that charcoal offers a more innate and effective means of portraying anatomical details, postures, gestures, and fluidity of movement. Despite being self-taught, Ronnie demonstrates remarkable dedication to maintaining a standard of quality that he deems satisfactory, all the while striving for continuous improvement. His artistic prowess first garnered significant attention during his solo exhibition titled “An Exploration” held at Purplehouz Gallery in Petaling Jaya in 2013. Notably, the year 2016 marked a significant milestone in his career as he had the privilege of participating in the Hong Kong Art Fair and contributing to Tourism Malaysia’s promotional efforts in Helsinki, Finland.
