Siva Nair is a self-taught artist who did not receive formal art education, apart from learning art during his school years from teachers trained in the UK. His artistic influences include renowned European masters such as Rubens, Vermeer, Rembrandt, J.W. Turner, Peter Peder Monsted, and John Constable. He has also drawn inspiration from contemporary artists like Vladimir Volegov, Michael James Smith, David Miller, Andrew Tischler, and Yuehua He.
Growing up in a small town has deeply influenced Siva Nair, fostering a strong connection and appreciation for the environment, nature, various cultures, and people. This perspective, distinct from urban life in Malaysia, is evident in his artwork. His creations skillfully blend the diverse heritage and cultural aspects of different races found in small towns, harmonizing with the captivating landscapes and natural beauty abundant in these areas.
Siva Nair’s art has garnered attention and recognition, as evidenced by collectors acquiring his pieces in regions including the US, Europe, Australia, India, and his home country, Malaysia.
